The company:

Facility Monitoring Systems Ltd supplies, installs and supports specialist, real time critical monitoring and alarm systems, associated instruments and equipment in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, automotive and industrial sectors. 

Job Purpose:

To work with the Commercial Director to achieve and exceed sales targets for critical monitoring and alarm systems (FMS). 

To promote, demonstrate and sell our TSI range of particle counters including our exciting new product, the TSI BioTrak unique real-time viable particle counter for aseptic manufacturing and monitoring system software. 

To develop and maintain customer relationships. This is very much an “on the road” home based role visiting customers and sites.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • To plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer contact to achieve agreed business aims/targets.
  • To implement marketing strategy and contribute towards the continued development of the strategy in line with business and market requirements. 
  • To meet with customers to assess their requirements and be familiar with the legislative and quality standard requirements for monitoring systems and equipment, such as ISO 14644-1/2.
  • To demonstrate the FMS critical monitoring software and alarm system, the range of AeroTrak handheld and portable airborne particle counter range, and the BioTrak real-time viable particle counter.
  • To liaise with the Integration & Installation engineers on receipt of a system order for an effective hand-over to the team who will deliver the project.
  • To support and maintain contact with customers post-delivery of system and/or equipment to ensure their satisfaction with the product(s) and the services the company offers.
  • To identify and establish new business opportunities.
  • To work with the Commercial Team and Technical Engineers to identify potential new products.

Detailed Tasks:

The post holder will be required to perform many of the following tasks:

  • Follow-up on external and internal sales leads / opportunities
  • Develop new opportunities
  • Visit customer offices and sites to ascertain requirements 
  • Prepare detailed brief on customer requirements for monitoring systems for the generation of proposals
  • Prepare and issue proposals (quotations) for AeroTrak airborne handheld and portable particle counters and the BioTrak real-time particle counter using our CRM system (Simpro)
  • Handover briefing to Integration & Install team on new system orders.
  • Use our CRM (Simpro) to maintain sales opportunities and provide pipeline forecasting for the Commercial Director
  • Demonstrate the BioTrak real-time viable particle counter to potential customers
  • Demonstrate the FMS monitoring system software 
  • Demonstrate AeroTrak handheld and portable airborne particle counters
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with TSI, the manufacturer of the BioTrak real-time viable particle counter and the FMS software suite.
  • Attend TSI training courses to develop knowledge of their products

Education/qualifications:

  • Degree or HND in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Driving licence
  • Formal sales training in complex selling environments (e.g. Miller Heiman Strategic and Conceptual Selling, Challenger or similar)

Experience requirements:

  • Cleanroom, Pharmaceutical or semi conductor industry experience.
  • Experience of selling systems which include software and hardware components.
  • Working knowledge of clean spaces, cleanroom design and cleanroom operation.
  • Participation in industry associations such as ISPE, PDA, PHSS

Understanding the role

Project management, delivery and technical support associated with assigned projects specializing in the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and validation of environmental monitoring systems.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Execute the responsibilities of a company representative according to the required lawful and ethical standards.
  • Delivery of assigned tasks associated with system installations from receipt of order to final handover to the customer.
  • Support the operations support team with coordinating, planning, and allocation of site visits.
  • Supporting the commercial team in calculating, preparation and issue of quotations and proposals.
  • Arrange and participate in divisional meetings, conferences, and project meetings.
  • Plan, coordinate and (where necessary) deliver technical training for staff.
  • Assist with customer liaison for technical system queries.
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, and quality management.
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.
  • Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between customers/suppliers/visitors/enquirers and relevant staff and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.

  • To diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems on environmental monitoring systems and components to take action to rectify failures and non-conformances.
  • Generate and maintain project documentation, drawings and contract communications and keep accurate and current information collated in the required format within the project files.

Role: Technical Engineer
Reporting to: Technical Director
Based at: FMSL Malvern Office

Understanding the role

Support customers’ requests for investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues. 

Technical support to the integration and service teams (business delivery team), associated with the design, installation or upgrade of critical monitoring systems. 

Provide the commercial team with technical support for generation of proposals for systems and system additions.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • To assist in the diagnosing and troubleshooting of technical problems on environmental monitoring systems and components and to take action to rectify failures and non-conformances. 
  • Serve as first line support, escalating to senior colleagues and engaging assistance of colleagues as required
  • Assist with documenting and testing any new products, features and additions to continually develop and improve the FMSL product range and engineering procedures, and manage ongoing component compatibility.
  • Assist with the initial set up of in-house test systems and manage these test systems going forward.
  • Assist the project delivery team with fully documenting and testing in-house control panels and component builds.
  • Assist the project delivery team with delivery of assigned tasks associated with system installations, upgrades and migrations from receipt of order to final handover to the customer.
  • Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing with customers, colleagues and suppliers, interpreting and responding to verbal or written instructions. 
  • Assist with planning and delivering technical training for staff and customers.
  • Client site visits as appropriate and as required.
  • Supporting the commercial team in the calculation, preparation and issue of quotations and proposals.

  • Experience in fault finding on computer networks and electrical circuits beneficial.

Understanding the role

To carry out test service and calibration activities on environmental monitoring systems and equipment at FMS’s client sites and act as technical support for customers and internal staff.

  • To carry out remedial repairs on environmental monitoring systems and components to rectify failures and non-conformances.
  • To complete all necessary documentation and reports on completion of testing, remedial and call out works and ensure that the client is in receipt of the required calibration certificates upon completion of the visit and before leaving the site.
  • Play an active role in maintaining and improving the reputation of the FMS brand name and establishing long term client relationships.

Role: Technical Support Engineer

Reporting to: Technical Lead Integration and Install

Based at: FMS Malvern Office

Job Purpose:

To provide the integration and service teams (business delivery team) and customers with technical support associated with the design or upgrade of critical monitoring systems.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Generation of documentation associated with system installations from receipt of order to final handover to the customer and subsequent internal handover to the service care team.
  2. Delivery of assigned tasks associated with system installations from receipt of order to final handover to the customer.
  3. Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing with customers, colleagues and suppliers during the design process, interpreting and responding to verbal or written instructions. 
  4. Assist and contribute with the research and development of components and systems.
  5. Client site assessment visits as appropriate and as required.
  6. Supporting the commercial team in the calculation, preparation and issue of quotations and proposals.

Detailed tasks:

The Technical Support Engineer may perform many of the following tasks:

  1. Review the customer order against our technical submission
  2. Generate system drawings:  wiring diagrams, panel drawings, system schematic drawings
  3. Generate bill of materials for the procurement of all components required for the system
  4. Generate validation documentation for review such as  Functional Design Specification, Configuration Statement (for bespoke software installation), Installation / Operational Qualification documentation
